The Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) was established by the Small Business Act, Number 7 of 2004 as a Statutory Authority of the Government of Botswana. The Authority is guided by a Board of Directors drawn from both the Private sector and the Public sector, and headed by a Chief Executive Officer.
LEA is a co-ordinated and focused one-stop shop Authority that provides development and support services to the local industry needs of SMMEs, encompassing training, mentoring, business plan finalisation, market access facilitation, and facilitation of technology adaptation and adoption

The Contact Centre allows for customers to access SMME information through the use of the nationwide Toll Free Number (0800 155 155) or email botsalea@lea.co.bw. The Contact Centre is operated by a team of Business Services and Marketing Advisors and it is managed by a Team Leader.
The objectives of the Contact Centre are:
* To respond to all enquiries and queries made through the toll free line or the "botsalea" email in the most customer friendly and professional manner
* To provide prompt, correct and relevant? information to SMME's on LEA products and services
* To provide professional business advice to SMME's to enable their growth and development
* To help LEA make informed decisions through provision of feedback on experiences, challenges and achievements of SMME's
